Are Metabolics products dairy free or gluten free?Updated 2 months ago

Some Metabolics products are formulated without dairy, wheat or other gluten-containing ingredients and this may be reflected in the product description or suitability notes. However, Metabolics does not laboratory-test finished products to confirm absolute “free from” allergen status.

What “no dairy/gluten-containing ingredients” means

  • When a product page states that it has no dairy, milk, wheat or gluten-containing ingredients, this means these ingredients are not intentionally used in the formulation.

  • This information is based on Metabolics’ ingredient specifications and label controls, which are kept up to date with any changes listed on the Label Updates page.

Important allergen and intolerance disclaimer

  • Metabolics does not routinely test final products to verify that they are completely free from trace amounts of dairy, gluten or other allergens, so cannot guarantee a product is entirely “dairy free” or “gluten free” in the legal sense.

  • For customers with coeliac disease, severe food allergies or medically diagnosed intolerances, Metabolics recommends discussing any supplement use with a healthcare professional before taking the product.

Suggested customer-facing reply

  • “Thank you for your enquiry about allergens. This product does not use any dairy, wheat or other gluten-containing ingredients in its formulation, based on our current ingredient specifications. However, we do not test the finished product to confirm it is completely free from these allergens, so we cannot guarantee it is dairy free or gluten free. If you have coeliac disease, a diagnosed allergy or intolerance, please speak to your healthcare practitioner before taking this or any food supplement.”

Internal guidance for teams and AI

  • When a customer asks “Is this dairy free / gluten free / wheat free?”, the response should:

    • Refer to whether the product uses dairy/gluten-containing ingredients, using the exact wording from the product page where available.

    • Always include the disclaimer that finished products are not tested for absolute absence of these allergens and therefore cannot be guaranteed “free from”.

  • The AI Agent and agents must not state or imply that a product is guaranteed dairy free or gluten free, and should avoid formal “free-from” claims that could conflict with UK/EU allergen labelling rules.
