This article explains when a Special Delivery order is dispatched and when you can expect to receive it, based on the 3 p.m. weekday cut‑off and our non‑operational weekend schedule.
Orders placed before 3 p.m. (Monday–Friday)
If you place your order before 3 p.m. on a working day (Monday–Friday) and choose a next‑day Special Delivery option at checkout, your order will be dispatched the same working day.
In this case, you should normally receive your parcel on the next working day, in line with the service level of the Special Delivery option you selected (for example, Royal Mail Special Delivery). Please note that delivery is ultimately subject to the carrier’s terms and operational performance.
Orders placed after 3 p.m. (Monday–Friday)
If you place your order after 3 p.m. on a working day, it will leave us on the next working day, not the same day.
For example, an order placed at 4 p.m. on Tuesday will normally be dispatched on Wednesday, for delivery on Thursday (next working day), depending on the Special Delivery service selected and carrier performance.
Orders placed at weekends or on non‑working days
Metabolics does not operate a dispatch service over the weekend.
If you place an order any time on Saturday or Sunday, your order will be processed and dispatched on Monday (or the next working day if Monday is a bank holiday).
Special Delivery services are usually counted in working days only, so a weekend order will not be delivered the next day (Sunday or Monday), but on the next working day after dispatch, in line with the carrier’s terms.
Quick reference examples
Order placed Thursday, 2:30 p.m., Special Delivery → dispatch Thursday, expected delivery Friday.
Order placed Thursday, 4:30 p.m., Special Delivery → dispatch Friday, expected delivery Monday (next working day).
Order placed Saturday, any time, Special Delivery → dispatch Monday, expected delivery Tuesday (next working day).
Important notes
All times refer to UK working days; bank holidays and severe weather or operational issues may affect delivery times and are outside Metabolics’ control.
Metabolics will always use best endeavours to dispatch in line with the 3 p.m. cut‑off, but delivery timeframes are ultimately provided and fulfilled by the chosen carrier.
